
Principles
The laser destroys pigments using the high energy emitted by the adapted wavelengths (1064 nm or 532 nm). Pigments absorb the energy and fragment themselves in the superficial layer of the epidermis, then they are expulsed from the epidermis; the other pigments (of basal layers) are phagocytosed by the human body macrophages and expulsed by the lymphatic system.
Therefore, the pigment’s color lightens gradually to finally disappear.
